Gackt Camui was born in Okinawa, Japan. As a child, he lived a privileged but extremely strict life. Day in and day out, he was made to practice martial arts under the careful teachings of his father. This rigorous training ultimately hardened Gackt to be an emotionless, cold, and an otherwise hollow being. Though it was later revealed to him that being a child of the Camui family meant having the responsibility of carrying on their tradition… all males must become a Vampire Hunter. Discouraged by the fact that his life had already been planned for him, Gackt ran away to mainland Japan at sixteen to seek his own destiny.
Gackt’s interest in extreme sports led him to pursue a career in superbike racing. Although slightly reckless, he became the best of the best. However, his simple and carefree life was put to a halt when word spread of the death of his family. He returned to Okinawa to seek the cause of their sudden passing but instead was met by a Vampire whose intention was simply to obliterate the Camui name. Gackt nearly escaped with his life yet successfully defeated the monster. Ridden with guilt over leaving his family and abandoning his responsibility, he vowed to uphold the family name and continue hunting.
Currently, at the age of 34, he maintains his racer image while secretly hunting vampires.

Gackt Camui’s fashion sense seems to reflect his icy personality; leather jackets, dark sunglasses, and piercings galore, he looks more like a rock star than a Vampire Hunter.
Standing at an impressive 180 cm, Gackt is a man with little empathy and patience. Focused and stoic, he prefers to keep a distant relationship between him and his peers. His callousness makes him a difficult person to approach yet somehow he remains a favorite amongst the ladies.
Gackt remains single and wishes to keep it that way. Unless the right woman came along…
